Turtle Companion
There are only 17 days left of this semester.  Then two weeks.  Then Europe. I can't wait!
The snow has finally begun to disappear.  There is still the occasional attack of snow, but it no longer has the will to stick to the ground.  The rain is a nice change for once. But the sun!  How I have missed the sun!  It is the most beautiful object in all of life.  Can one think of a more delightful cause for being? Everything in this world is predicated on the sun: plants, humanity, poetry, the orbit, etc.  It's wonderful.
My birthday has come and gone.  I spent the weekend in a Real City with a Real Mall and had a wonderful time shopping among the civilized.  I also had the opportunity to attend my cousin's wedding.  I feel like everywhere I go lately, all I hear is about marriage.  It must be the season.  Or perhaps it is also my current location... Or both.
We went to the "hot springs" for S.'s birthday.  We were so excited until we discovered the exaggeration of their use of the term "hot spring."  It was more a dirty, disease spreading indoor pool and hot tub.  I do not even want to know the awful things I encountered in my stay in that pool.  It was frightening.  Nonetheless!  We had a lot of fun.  We have also made a goal to go to the real hot springs.
This week I have made a goal to not visit Tumblr, fashion blogs, or lookbook.nu.  So far so good.  It's a lot more difficult than I thought it would be.
This weekend is the Hindu holy day of Holi. They have a tradition called the Festival of Colors.  Many of my friends are planning on taking the trip to attend and I so badly want to go!  However, due to the fact that I have taken way to many weekend trips, I think it would be ill advised of me to go.  I have essays (plural) to write in the next 2 weeks and I have yet to begin any of them.
Off topic, but I highly recommend the Silent Planet series by C.S. Lewis.
Anyway.  I have to go attack some homework.
