Trying to find things to do in the middle of nowhere.

Civilization
Tonight I will be making a spur of the moment (well, as spur of the moment as I get) trip home!  Going on a 14 hour drive with my friends.  Can't wait!  Snacks, music, car sickness-- the whole deal.  This weekend is going to be flurry of happiness and things to do!
Civilization.... I miss you...

Bummer Dude.
Today was the much looked forward to Chocolate Party.  I'm sure you envisioned chocolate fountains and free massages galore, with a separate room filled with people attempting to mate on the dance floor.  Unfortunately, it was quite a disappointment.  Chocolate?  Gone within the first hour.  Massages?  No where to be found.  Mating on the dance floor?  Sparingly.  The dance was an odd combination of an awkward, conservative middle school dance and a typical slut filled orgy.  It was not a good combination.  We are talking awful music and people awkwardly standing around.  All in all, this party was a great disappointment.
However!  Last night M., B., and our new friend A. went to Never Say Never.  I was not expecting much out of a documentary about a YouTube sensation.  This movie, however, exceeded my expectations!  It was well made and was very inspirational.  I realized while watching it that Jaden Smith is so cool!  I totally support his ascension to stardom.
Tomorrow is church.  I am going to wear my new long, mesh skirt.  I'm really excited.

P.S. Check out my Tumblr.

Weekend/Past Few Days
Today, I sent off a Valentine's Day package to my friend on a mission.  It was so fun to make!  My roommate H. and I went to the store and bought all sorts of wonderful things to put in it.  Mostly candy, but candy is wondeful in it's own way.
Tomorrow B., K., M., and I are going to go see Justin Bieber's movie Never Say Never!  Immature?  Possible.  Slaves to pop culture?  Even more so.  The midnight showings were all sold out around us, so that is why we are seeing it tomorrow rather than tonight.

This weekend, we are going to the Chocolate Party.  Hopefully it will be good.  You never know till it happens.  Free massages, chocolate fountain, and dance party?  Sounds totally promising.  We shall see.
Next weekend, we may all take a road trip home for the three day weekend.  I really want to go!  So hopefully our plans workout.

Off to the "Big City"
We are off to our nearby "Big City."  That may be a bit of an exaggeration.  However, we are so excited!  We are going to get coffee (which there is an extreme dearth of in my very conservative town) and steak!  We are going to go shopping at a mall.  It is a very small mall but a mall nonetheless.  So stoked.  Yoga pants here i come!
I am not driving.  My roommate M. is driving.  For some reason they never let me drive.  They have never seen me drive, so they can't fear the skills they don't know I have.  However, perhaps it is their fear of the unknown... hmmmm....
Today I had to take a test.  It closed at 2.  I arrived to take it at 3.  Problem?  I think so.  After emailing my teacher she finally opened it up for me.  Best day ever?  Yep.
Big City.  Re-opened test.  What next?  I guess we shall see.

Bread Baking
Over the summer, I found myself with a lot of time on my hands.  I did not have a job but all of my friends did.  I just had a lot of empty time to fill.  And fill it I did.  One of the things I did was learn about bread.  Not just how to make it, but the why.  I read book after book about bread. I learned about flour and yeast and different cooking methods.  I learned what makes a rustic bread and what makes a sweet bread.  I may or may not have developed a deep love for all things bread.    One recipe that I really love I didn't get from any of my bread books.  I got it from this wonderful lady in my church.  She would bake the most heavenly bread and would gives loafs to my family from time to time.  I fell in love with it.  She gave the recipe to me and I use it often.  It is a simple sweet, sandwhich type bread.  So delicious and quick.  I am teaching my roommate how to make it.  So fun.  We seem to be having difficulties.  Better go fix it!

So much time, so little to do
I am a displaced daisy.  Going from my wonderful, sunny home in fantastic California to the frigid, snow encrusted state of Idaho.  I have been learning all sorts of things, many that I feel I could have lived my whole life without knowning and be content. Such as:  I cannot walk in heels on the ice.  It is a simple fact.  I cannot do it.  I make an absolute spectacle of myself.  Another thing I am learning, along with the rest of the displaced civilized world that is here, is how to create entertainment.  I hesitate to call it fun; many times it is the mere avoidence of boredoem.  We have to be creative in order to not go crazy.
There is nothing here.  I am sure you believe I am exaggerating.  I only wish I were.  The closest "city" is 40 minutes away, and anything that is possibly fun has been outlawed in my little college town.  I call it the Town of Fun Suckers.  Because really, if they sense anything may have some entertainment value, they make it against the law.  Unfair you say?  Join the club.
But I digress.
We are on a mission (created by necissity) to find entertainment in this god forsaken town.  We will succeed.  I am sure of it.
Tonight I made sugar cookies.  Not so interesting, but oh so adorbale.  They are pink and white hearts for Valentines day.
Got to finish the cookies.
